Flying by the seat of their pants, the Boonie Boys formed in 1987, when the Sniper was king
of the field, as a team without a name. Jason, Andy, Jeff and Martin were highschool friends
who were looking for a better game than slingshots with acorns (DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!) and
were convinced to try a day of paintball. That quickly led to their first tournament (using
rental guns!) and the need for a name - at the last minute, actually standing at the registration
desk saying "Andy, what the hell are we called?!", the Boonie Boys were inaugerated.
Needless to say, we didn't win that one - but we didn't place last either! The small victories
we had that day fueled us to try harder, practice, and invest in good equipment. Not to mention
getting part-time jobs to pay for all of it. Over the next few years, half of the roster fluctuated
even though our upward spiral of tournament placings remained consistent. Two solid years of winning
and a solid roster finally saw us turn Pro as half of Fred Schultz' Constant Pursuit. Since then, Da 'Boys have gone
back to the amateur circuit to invest more time in our families and help out newer/younger players.
No one ever suspected that a few good friends in highschool would hold a team together
for almost 15 years and rise to the top of the amateur paintball ranks.
Throughout 'Da Boys career, several things have always remained constant. First and foremost,
a dedication to HONEST and FAIR play at all costs. Secondly, the desire to be the best players
we can be and promote the sport and our sponsors everywhere we go. Thirdly - to remain as
unpolitical as possible. The Boonie Boys are just here to play the game. Period.
